Catherine's Reflection:
This poem shows the sorrow that builds in a person's heart when their love is only one sided.  Although the man may still love his partner, she does not feel the same way and has moved on.  The beauty he sees in her and the times they had together in the past still haunt him. Love is so short while forgetting takes a long time.  Getting over someone is painful and the love for that person will still linger on long after things have ended.

Haley's Reflection

This poem reflects the culture that it came from because Pablo's family disapproved of his poetry and so naturally one would think that to make up for the lack of support and love from his family, he would write poems about love. This poem is an example of just that because it speaks of a relationship that might not necessarily last, but in case it does, it would be wonderful.

Sydney's reflection!
This poem is about how he lives and breaths for this woman(she is not named) and how he would give and do anything for her to make her happy and hear her laughter. I think when he talks about hearing and wanting her laughter he uses laughter instead of happy. Frm reading this poem, Pablo Neruda would do anything and he truly cares about this "mystery woman who-is-not-named"
